I really appreciated how connected these men were, in all ways, and was happy to see them finally realize that being together was where they would fit the best.The narration of Alexander Collins never ceases to make me happy. He has such range, and talent for creating voices for the characters that I haven’t heard in his other Emile City characters. The differences between these two men could be noticed immediately, merely by his tone of voice. 

This book is really about second chances and realising your opportunities when they present themselves and grasping on to them. ....I enjoyed this story a lot. It has a strong message that life is too precious to throw away and you should enjoy every day and take joy in the things you have.

I adored this book....What impressed me most in this book is how much Samuel grew into himself and into his feelings, learning that book knowledge alone doesn't make a leader, and that compassion and understanding is often better than commanding and demanding. Loyalty is earned, as is respect. But Samuel also learns to open his heart, to listen to it more than his mind, and to trust in his mate....And CC has this special talent to infuse the holy hot boysecks, Batman scenes with so much emotion, so much heart, that I tend to feel like an unwelcome intruder watching them unfold. But I can't stop reading, either, because they make me choke up and sniffle as well. I've come to know to always have a box of tissues ready when reading one of CC's books. ... Fully fleshed out characters, excellent side characters (friend or foe), and an engaging, nicely flowing plot - what's not to love?

We really get to see the awesomeness that is Jared and the growth that occurs with Lucas. ... When I got through with this book, my thought was how much it made me smile. And my second was, it's just lovely.

This story was a delight to read - whether it was the hot and smexy bedroom/kitchen/living room scenes or whether it was a lunch date with Jason's ex-wife, the intensity of the emotions was there all the way. You laughed when they laughed, you felt your heart twinge at Jason's cluelessness as he tries to find his way in the dark and do the 'right' thing. You will probably be amazed (as I was) with Abe's quiet strength and how he knows which battles to fight and which to leave.
