I was a wee bit concerned that this book might be too similar to Ethan and Miguel's story, but there was no reason for me to worry. Yorry and Sal are a force unto themselves and the Fates certainly knew what they were doing pairing them together. It may have taken twenty years from the first time they met but, in the end, a more perfect mating couldn't have occurred. Loved this book and it just reaffirms my belief that Cardeno C. is intensely talented.

Rainbow Book Reviews

A very strong message is conveyed in this one - treasure the life that has been granted to you. In Another Life is a story that enlightens how precious human life can be. It's a gift, and losing that gift just because of one depressing phase in it would only mean that you are losing on so many happy moments that you could have experienced. ... Read it for the magic of Cardeno C's fantastic writing. It grips you till the end. I, for one, was impressed by author's creativity with this book. The execution of that unique idea was perfect. The jumps from the real life to dream life and back weren't weird at all. It all flowed in a perfectly sensible manner. ... In Another Life is a food for thought. We ought to have those every now and then. So thank you Cardeno C. for writing such a masterpiece. this story will never be forgotten.

So this second installment of Cardeno C's Family series is sweet and syrupy and romantic (and oh so incredibly sexy). It is a book for when you want to feel good, filled with people who are happy and mushily in love. There is conflict, but it is fairly mild and most of the book focuses on Spencer and Emilio and how much they want and love each other. And sometimes that kind of story is exactly what I want, and as a result, I really loved this book.... One of my favorite tropes in my romance are stories with age gaps. I love that sense of one partner caring for the other and exposing him to new things that comes from more life (and sexual) experience. What I really loved here is how the author turns that around. ... These guys were just so sweet together and I just loved them. I also really enjoyed Emilio's family, full of big, burly brothers and a sister. ...There is such a playfulness and banter between the siblings that brings a lot of fun into the story....Definitely recommended, especially when you want something warm, sweet, sexy, and low on the angst. P.S. This book is the second in the Family series, but as with most of the author's other series, they do not need to be read in order.

Joyfully Jay

Jason was such an extraordinary character to get to know. ...Confident and honest to a fault, he was clear as to who he was and what was to be expected of him. .....Abe was a great character too. I admired his tenacity, his caring heart and the patience he found in himself when it came to dealing with Jason. ...Cardeno didn't pull any punches in bringing forth the connection between these two. Through every stilted conversation, honest interaction and heated encounters Abe and Jason's connection never failed to be present–always growing deeper, bringing them closer each time. ...I expect it's not an easy feat to bring all these elements to the page, but Cardeno brought it all together seamlessly without taking away from any one of the elements involved. The emotions were present, intense yet subtle and correctly portrayed. The romance was slow-building but firmly established and developed. And of course, the chemistry was explored in many different ways. Cardeno managed to not only bring the heat to these scenes but also brought into it the complexity of the characters–what made them tick, what they yearned for and how emotionally invested they were in what they were sharing. Be it their first heated embrace, their flirty banter or just a simple look, Jason and Abe's chemistry jumped off the page and their emotions made themselves known.

Once again the author has given us a story of love that didn't come easy but was so worth the effort.
