The turn of events for this book was beautifully done, in my opinion. Cardeno C was amazing when portraying the struggles of the characters and the way things were developing between them, up until the moment my jaw dropped and I though “OMG! Really?!” Because even though I kind of knew, I wasn’t sure and when the twist came I just wasn’t prepared for it...To wrap things up here. Cardeno C made an amazing, off the chart, relatable, sweet, romantic, soul-searching, socially interesting novel. The journey in this pages will fill you up with smiles, baling fists, wanting to commit character murder (in my case), laughter, deep thinking and more than anything, love so great that everything seems worth it at the end… If you don’t have in mind the fact that the twist of the book left you wanting more, even thou there is no cliff-hanger here.
This is a truly romantic book.
I am head over heels for the Home series and have been since I first read it nearly two years ago. I've also stated in the past that is near impossible to pick a favorite of the series, but there is one that I love marginally better than all the rest. Well, ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to Just What the Truth Is, my very favorite book in Cardeno C's Home series. Why do I love this book so much? Well, let me tell you. I'll start with the characters. If I've said it once, I've said it a billion times. Cardeno C is a master of characterization, and this story proves that. ... And the plot is engrossing. Ben's journey from momma's boy to his own man is something to behold. It is a bumpy, hard, and ugly road, but the outcome is beautiful. ... So, yes, I absolutely, hands down love Ben and Micah's story. It's emotional and lovely. In such a character-driven series, these characters are perfect. I love the story and absolutely love this series. If you haven't read any of the books in this series, don't worry. This series is written so that each story is a standalone and can be read in any order. My advice? Read them all. You won't regret it. And start wherever you want, but definitely read this book. I highly, highly recommend Just What the Truth Is by Cardeno C.
How we see our lives is really just a collection of impressions seen from our viewpoint, not how events actually unfold. Usually we don't get a chance to explore how right or wrong our impressions are, but go through the years believing what we think happened is true. But what if our impressions are skewed? Cardeno explores this idea in a nifty little novella that has the protagonist reevaluate his life from someone else's perspective. ... This delightful premise and the ensuing untangling of memories could be a study in strum und drang, but Cardeno approaches it with a deft hand and a light touch, making the story one of those "awwwww" moments in reading.... Cardeno's story is a little gem that will tickle even the most jaded readers and brighten their day.
Reg and Jeremy will take your mind off things and pull you into their world and before you know what happened, you'll be reading the last pages of their story and wishing for more.
