Romance Addict Anonymous Ben is funny, crazy, stupid, and so in denial that he could have been a parody of himself. The fact that he doesn't even in a book written in first person POV is almost a miracle. Watching Ben fight through all his conflicted feelings could have been an exercise in extreme frustration, but somehow isn't. That's the mark of a great story. When it could have been and maybe should have been crazy making but totally wasn't.

Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words I loved this book! C. Cardeno kept me frustrated with Ben, laughing with him and sometimes sobbing right along with him on his journey to self awareness and a life worth living in every respect. C. Cardeno's characterizations and spot on dialog were so wonderfully executed that the story zipped along and I was finishing the end before I knew it. ...And the other characters C. Cardeno created to assist/love Ben into making the life adjustments necessary to become a whole man happy with who he is? They are just so real, so alive that they jumped off the pages at you. ... In fact C. Cardeno has laid out a beautifully realistic book of one's man's' journey to a happy fulfilled life, and the pitfalls he encountered or put up himself that had to be overcome before he could achieve his goals. As I said I loved this book and I think you will too. Don't pass it up.

The Book Vixen Humorous, heartfelt, sexy romance full of great characters. ... Ben is such a humorous and zany narrator that I fell a bit in love with him. ... This is a sexy and emotional romance between Ben and Micah. Ben's inexperience with gay sex is simultaneously humorous, emotive and hot. These two men make sex fun but have a relationship based on friendship that I could see as a reader. ... I love the secondary characters here as well as the unhurried plot. ... I love romances set in communities and that's what this book had. I also love the unhurried plot of this book. ... The characters were given time to develop along with the romance. The best part of this plot is the resolution that went further than most books would have in this situation as the couple becomes a family. None of this felt rushed or forced but instead just unfolded in a story of love in all its forms.

The Romance Reviews The romance between Ben and Micah was very sweet, extremely steamy, and believable. There were quite a few excellent conversations between not only Ben and Micah, but also with Ben and his brother and brother's friends. ... The narrative of this story was wonderfully engaging, providing the reader with the sense that they are living the story. I loved this book and highly recommend it to those who enjoy character-driven romances.
