Let me tell you...this is the hottest, sexiest book from Cardeno C. yet! ... This was one of the best opposites attracts book that I've read in a long time. It was able to capture everything just right between Jason and Abe. Between the sweet, loving, nurturer that is Abe, and the dirty talking, slightly detached, but willing to concede Jason, it really just clicked into one of the best m/m romances that I've read this year. ...I was so sucked into The Half of Us that when I finished it, I wanted to turn around and re-read it. It was just that good of a story for me. The characters were spot on, the story painted a fantastic portrait of a developing relationship, and kept you hooked into it until the very last word.

Oooh, I just loved this one you guys! ...What is so wonderful about The Half of Us is the way author Cardeno C really elevates the story beyond just this fears commitment/wants a relationship dynamic in a way that makes for a fascinating story and wonderful characters. ...Jason doesn't see a future for himself with anyone long term and it never occurs to him he can have that. But as the relationship with Abe slowly builds, Jason goes with it. ...It scares him sometimes, and definitely surprises him, but Jason goes with it in a way that is really appealing. What also makes this work so well is the complexity of both of these characters. ....Jason comes across arrogant and quick tempered, but he is also so warm and loving underneath. He dotes on Abe, he is caring with his ex-wife, and he is determined to make a relationship with his kids. For his part, Abe is also more than he seems at first. ...What is interesting about Abe is that deep down, there is a much wilder side to him than he lets out. ...There is this wonderful undercurrent of dirtiness between them, of hard, intense, messy sex that makes both of them crazy. ...The men are crazy hot together and it is so much fun to see them really explore both of their desires....I just adored Abe and loved him and Jason together. I really liked seeing how Abe makes Jason a better man, makes him reach for…

Ezekiel Robison was actually a first time listen for me. I have to say that he did a wonderful job with these characters.

Jason was such an extraordinary character to get to know. ...Confident and honest to a fault, he was clear as to who he was and what was to be expected of him. .....Abe was a great character too. I admired his tenacity, his caring heart and the patience he found in himself when it came to dealing with Jason. ...Cardeno didn't pull any punches in bringing forth the connection between these two. Through every stilted conversation, honest interaction and heated encounters Abe and Jason's connection never failed to be present–always growing deeper, bringing them closer each time. ...I expect it's not an easy feat to bring all these elements to the page, but Cardeno brought it all together seamlessly without taking away from any one of the elements involved. The emotions were present, intense yet subtle and correctly portrayed. The romance was slow-building but firmly established and developed. And of course, the chemistry was explored in many different ways. Cardeno managed to not only bring the heat to these scenes but also brought into it the complexity of the characters–what made them tick, what they yearned for and how emotionally invested they were in what they were sharing. Be it their first heated embrace, their flirty banter or just a simple look, Jason and Abe's chemistry jumped off the page and their emotions made themselves known.
