So, this is a great story and I am a sucker for CC’s work, it just draws me right in and I can’t get enough.

What I Liked: Ethan may be the younger man here but he knows his mind and is willing to fight for Miguel which I loved. Ethan has a pure love for Miguel that allows no doubts or fears and I enjoyed this earnest romance. Miguel tries valiantly to send Ethan away, both because they're different species and because he doesn't think he's a good for Ethan but Ethan isn't having it. Ethan sees right through Miguel pitiful attempts to push him away and stands firm in his love and acceptance for Miguel and this made for a delightful romance in my opinion. The sexual intimacy is much more frequent and graphic than I remember in book one but since I love erotic romance that was a good thing. I also enjoyed how biologically Miguel and Ethan were destined to be true mates. This fact strengthened the insta-mate trope that is used here and makes it a tad different than other romances in the genre. What I Also Liked: I also liked the inclusion of Ethan's wolf pack and Miguel's vampire clan. Ethan is the runt of his pack and has been treated as such for years so to see Miguel stick up for him and truly value him was a just what I wanted. Miguel's dark nature is brilliantly showcased in how he deals with his clan when they cause potential harm to Ethan. In romances readers are often told a hero is powerful and ruthless but this book shows…

Cardeno C offered me a taste of something different and I have to say I like it. I was impressed with both of the main characters and their connection was very strong. Ethan being the runt of the pack is thoroughly enchanting in all his innocence and witty charm. Miguel is the vicious vampire with a heart that beats strongly for Ethan. Their relationship is what kept the story fresh and exciting. ... Cardeno C does it right once again.

Korban Keller, who was absolutely adorable with his sweet and pleasant disposition, is next in line to be the alpha of his pack. Samuel and Korban meet at a young age and run into each other fairly often. Samuel is convinced that Korban couldn't possibly have good intentions and is always leery of everything Korban says. This made for some very interesting interactions between the two of them. ...Korban brings out the passionate side of Samuel that nobody had ever seen before. For the first time in his life, Samuel understands what it means to truly love and care about somebody. These two alphas made an amazing team, and you can easily envision their future together. I really enjoyed the action that takes place as the pack alphas fight to gain control. Although this is part of a series, each of the stories can be read on its own. However, I highly recommend each of the three stories. They are each uniquely told, and this is one of my absolute favorite paranormal series. I love the concept of one true mate, and this story delivered it beautifully

OMG, I completely fell for Spencer. He's so sweet, a little vulnerable, shy, and totally has no idea of his own worth. He actually believed his ex and thinks he's dull, unattractive, and not good in bed. And, who couldn't absolutely adore Emilio? A hunky stud who is gentle and is looking for the long-term guy to share his life with. Emilio wants what his parents, his brothers and his sister have all found, the love of his life and he's fairly certain that person is Spencer. ... Watching Spencer and Emilio get to their happy ever after was really lovely. It was everything I had hoped for in this love story and I wasn't disappointed at all.
