Accountant slash bartender Reg will show rock star Jeremy how to have fun...and possibly fall in love.
Hollywood royalty Jeremy Jameson has lived a sheltered life with music as his sole focus and only friend. Before embarking on yet another international concert tour, he wanders into a bar in what he considers the middle-of-nowhere and meets a man who wins him over with his friendly smile and easy-going nature. Accountant slash bartender slash adventure-seeker Reg Moore has fun talking and drinking with The Jeremy Jameson and can't say no when the supposedly straight rock star makes him a once in a lifetime offer: keep him company on his tour by playing the part of his boyfriend.
Listening to music, traveling the world, and jumping off cliffs is fun. Falling in love is even better. But to stay with Jeremy after the stage lights dim, Reg will need to help him realize there's nothing pretend about their relationship.
With the worn-to-hell baseball cap pulled low over his face, Jeremy Jameson walked into the bar. At least he assumed it was a bar, based on the lopsided sign out front that simply said "Bar" in peeling red paint and the stench of beer and cigarette smoke that permeated the air. The interior space wasn't any cleaner or hipper than the parking lot.
Jeremy tried to remember the last time he had been in a club or bar or restaurant that wasn't sleek with carefully positioned lighting and well-maintained fixtures. Never. The answer to that question was never. Even musicians who started on the bottom and worked their way up probably wouldn't have come to a dive like this; it was too small, too out of the way, and it didn't have a stage or any room to set up equipment.
Internally lecturing himself for thinking about work…
Warm, sensual, sweet and hot. Reg is a perfect guy. Maybe he's too perfect, but with Jeremy as his other half, he has to be. Jeremy is a spoiled brat, has tantrums and no idea how the real world works. But he doesn't know any better. When Reg points out his flaws, he genuinely tries to better himself. I liked how Reg's POV was written. He is funny and such a good person, his thoughts cracked me up sometimes. Jeremy broke my heart sometimes. He's insecure and lonely, even if he doesn't even know it. His life hasn't been his own until Reg takes over some of the control. It gives Jeremy the time to calm down and get a handle of his own life. It's so great to read how their relationship grows without Jeremy realizing it. ... Believe me, you want to read this story.
Have you ever thought, ‘this person was created solely to love another’? As I was reading, or listening in this case, it struck me; Reg was made to love Jeremy. To be honest, I can’t think of another couple that hit me with a similar realization. After countless love stories this was a first and did it ever rock my world.
Perfect Imperfections is a very enjoyable read, with entertaining characters who are immediately likeable.... I recommend to any fan of the genre as it has a really engrossing storyline and some scorching scenes between Jeremy and Reg. Personally, Reg is my favorite character, as he is relaxed and easy going, but focused on making Jeremy happy – a dream come true to me. ...Through Reg we get to dig under the surface to see that Jeremy is kind, gentle and much in need of love. Of course, he is far from perfect, and I love how Reg can accept all of the musician, imperfections and all. What's even better, he helps Jeremy accept them too. The author did a good job of teasing me, testing my patience as our two guys figure each other out, and the ups and downs of being famous were also interesting to explore.
This is a beautiful love story. A rock star without the crazy lifestyle we sometimes read about. Not a great deal of angst, no wild parties or drug binges, more a man finding himself and realizing what he has been missing out on....I'm glad there was no major freak out when he realizes he is gay the story didn't call for that. Instead their relationship just continues to grow and evolve into something beautiful. I love this authors writing and this book is no different. We are given two men, not spectacular by themselves, who come together and form a friendship. From this comes a love affair that is a pleasure to watch grow and ends up damn near perfect!
