This is the joy of a story by Cardeno C. The characters are real, loveable and memorable. Jared and Lucas are perfect examples. They will stay with you long after you have read the last word. Don’t miss McFarland’s Farm. It has everything you need in a great MM story – fantastic men, a realistic plat and love to die for. How can you go wrong?

Sensual Reads

What is most interesting about this novel is the description of the relationship between shifters and vampires. In most paranormal novels, it is the vampires that are portrayed and the ones feeling superior to humans. In this story/series, however, Cardeno C. portrays the shifters as the elitist and the vampires as the ones trying to assimilate into human society. What I also enjoyed is that Cardeno C. portrays Ethan as a wolf with a host of issues, but the one who, according to his sister, would save them all. My favorite part of the story is the interaction between Miguel and Katherine. I see her as a petulant, inquisitive child, even though she is well over 300 years old.

Romance Novels in Color

So this second installment of Cardeno C's Family series is sweet and syrupy and romantic (and oh so incredibly sexy). It is a book for when you want to feel good, filled with people who are happy and mushily in love. There is conflict, but it is fairly mild and most of the book focuses on Spencer and Emilio and how much they want and love each other. And sometimes that kind of story is exactly what I want, and as a result, I really loved this book.... One of my favorite tropes in my romance are stories with age gaps. I love that sense of one partner caring for the other and exposing him to new things that comes from more life (and sexual) experience. What I really loved here is how the author turns that around. ... These guys were just so sweet together and I just loved them. I also really enjoyed Emilio's family, full of big, burly brothers and a sister. ...There is such a playfulness and banter between the siblings that brings a lot of fun into the story....Definitely recommended, especially when you want something warm, sweet, sexy, and low on the angst. P.S. This book is the second in the Family series, but as with most of the author's other series, they do not need to be read in order.

Joyfully Jay

I think one of my favorite things about this book was how it felt in relation to the first book in the Family series. This book was beautiful. It was sweet and delicious. I loved both Spencer and Emilio from the first page to the last . If you are looking for angst and drama go back and read book one, Something In the Way He Needs, and you will be get all the hard angst you crave. If you want the story of two men who learn to love and accept each other, than Strong enough is the book for you. The way Cardeno made these two books feel completely different is intriguing. ... This book is special. It made me feel so happy. There are sad moments and struggles and these men both have to grow and adapt and learn how to be more than they ever knew they could be, but sweet mercy, the journey was beautiful.
