Jaymie: From the stories of friendships that develop into love to enemies who find they fit perfectly with one another, destined mates and second chance love, I always feel good after reading one of Cardeno C's books....f you want to read a story with just a tad bit of angst and a whole lot of sweet, great down to earth characters, romance and fun, Not A Game is a great choice. Heather: I seriously loved this book, I would bet I had a smile through most of this book. ...his is a book that I will reread. It's sweet, loving, funny and made my heart sigh. 

I absolutely adored this story. I was completely and totally entranced from page one. I loved Charlie’s perspective and his snarky asides. I’m a real sucker for that kind of character, and Cardeno writes them perfectly.

Loved the complicated leads and the organic romance which unfolded in unexpected ways for me. ... At novel's beginning I thought I knew Ash, aka Asshole ... But oh does his character grow! ... Ash is a unique romance hero in that his past isn't used to explain away his boorish behavior, instead Daniel accepts Ash and helps him see how much better a person he can be by loving Daniel. ... Daniel is just as stellar a character as Ash but in a totally different way. ... The romance between Daniel and Ash was absolutely captivating. Daniel is like an immovable wall of love that Ash runs up against and can't quite figure out. Ash is so used to having all the control that he can't imagine how calm, free-spirited and clumsy Daniel makes him not care about power and control. This dynamic steeps the novel in emotional and erotic intensity ... This novel could easily have been just Ash getting what he needed from a relationship but Daniel gets the anchor and home he's always craved. How the reconciliation happens perfectly shows Ash's character growth as well as how much Daniel needs Ash. ... This romance is like expensive chocolate with complexity and flavor without being too sweet. ... Something in the Way He Needs is my favorite Cardeno C. novel and will be on my re-read and favorite book shelves.

This story is amazing and beautifully told outlining how love is from the heart, regardless of destiny or fate. If you open your mind, you will see YOU control your future, your heart, not pheromones, instincts, or a gut feeling… they have an undeniable chemistry that is HOT. They know what they want and they don't hold back from getting it. Whether it is from human emotions or animal instinct, they are explosive together. Control has an amazing cast of side characters, each one stepping up to the plate when needed. They are supporting and add another level of laughter and humor to the story… If you love shifter stories, you will love this. If you haven't tried one yet, what better place than right here. You could not ask for two better authors to join together, and create a world where, love and commitment, is constantly strived for. Where peace among your peers are held in the highest regard. Where you thrive to keep control your ultimate goal. Whether that control is amongst your people or control in the bedroom, it does not matter. Together they will be unstoppable. I like reading a story of any genre that reaches outside the box of what is normal, and this story is a breath of fresh air to the usual paranormal/shifter reader. ... As well as being a sweet, creative love story, Cardeno C. brings a little humor and mystery to this story. I highly recommend it and look forward to reading the next book in the Mates series in the future.
