For me, the characters-especially the main characters-are the driving factor in determining if I like a story or not.  That's one of the reasons I keep coming back to Cardeno C.'s books...I know I'm going to get wonderful characters who are complex and deep, and with distinct personalities.  I'm also going to get characters that are easy to relate to, and that is clearly illustrated here in Not A Game.

Making It Happen

I really liked the leads, Abel and Kai, and while Kai's sister annoyed me at first, she had her heart in the right place. I'll also say that All of Me is kind of cheesy-sweet and you have to go in with a frame of mind wanting to see a couple who were obviously meant to be together find their way. It is paranormal in the sense that there are shifters in the book, but it is no great world-building paranormal read. It's not meant to be. It is what it is, a contemporary romance with two characters who are hurting with a fix in sight....This is a really nice and quick shifter read. Although there is a darker reason for the two lovers to have not made their bond occur earlier, the MC's are good together. ...if you are feeling like a romantic and sweet paranormal, with the sex all kinds of good too, then this is a nice little read.

On Top Down Under Book Reviews

I am head over heels for the Home series and have been since I first read it nearly two years ago. I've also stated in the past that is near impossible to pick a favorite of the series, but there is one that I love marginally better than all the rest. Well, ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to Just What the Truth Is, my very favorite book in Cardeno C's Home series. Why do I love this book so much? Well, let me tell you. I'll start with the characters. If I've said it once, I've said it a billion times. Cardeno C is a master of characterization, and this story proves that. ... And the plot is engrossing. Ben's journey from momma's boy to his own man is something to behold. It is a bumpy, hard, and ugly road, but the outcome is beautiful. ... So, yes, I absolutely, hands down love Ben and Micah's story. It's emotional and lovely. In such a character-driven series, these characters are perfect. I love the story and absolutely love this series. If you haven't read any of the books in this series, don't worry. This series is written so that each story is a standalone and can be read in any order. My advice? Read them all. You won't regret it. And start wherever you want, but definitely read this book. I highly, highly recommend Just What the Truth Is by Cardeno C.

Reg and Jeremy will take your mind off things and pull you into their world and before you know what happened, you'll be reading the last pages of their story and wishing for more.
