I wrote this flash fic for Boy Meets Boy Reviews featuring the characters in Wake Me Up Inside. Enjoy! - CC
.
Johnnie was an easy story to listen to and held my attention. It offered a bit of a twist on the shifter world adding in the Siphon and the men grow to balance each other out quite well. Recommended for a sweet shifter love story.
I came for the sex, for the fluffy romance, and I got that, but what I'll take with me is the formation of a family. This isn't a book about overwrought declarations of love, but a quieter book about showing that love, feeling it in the small everyday events of life. ...don't underestimate fluff nugget romance novels or authors like Cardeno C.
Cardeno C, once again, did a splendid job in bringing this story to the page. The journey throughout the years was an enjoyable one. To see them growing from teenagers to wonderful men was a joy to me. Their friendship and devotion, Andrew's struggles, their lust, emotions and acceptance of each other was beautifully weaved together in a way that truly made this story real for me. The dialog was both entertaining and revealing. The events that took place throughout the story were perfectly placed to have their proper impact on the reader. I was grinning with happiness each and every time they got together, screaming at them to get their heads on straight and crying my eyes out with each betrayal and each painful thought.
Stubborn has a name and it is Ethan Abbatt. Once he figured out that Miguel was his true mate he wasn't going away no matter what anyone else said....even Miguel. Miguel was savage and ruthless with everyone but Ethan and that dichotomy made me fall for his character. ... while the main theme may be forbidden but true love the more important lesson is acceptance and adaptability. ...Lots of sexy, sweet scenes and I have to say a nice change in that the older more experienced very alpha male didn't necessarily take the lead in the bedroom. ... I hope there are more stories planned in the future and that the shifters learn to tolerate difference.
I love this book and I am still laughing about it. ... There is romance, wit, sex and it is a really good time.
