I wrote this flash fic for Boy Meets Boy Reviews featuring the characters in Wake Me Up Inside. Enjoy! - CC

Cardeno has such an amazing way of adding a unique twist on each of her shifter stories...In some ways it’s haunting. Others funny and clever. In this one it’s emotional and rule bending. She shows that the old ways aren’t always the right ways and in doing this brings a clarity and freshness to a modern day shifter story.
I absolutely adored this story. I was completely and totally entranced from page one. I loved Charlie’s perspective and his snarky asides. I’m a real sucker for that kind of character, and Cardeno writes them perfectly.
Ethan and Miguel’s story was a great one. Full of character growth and romantic development.
What I loved about the dynamic of Jeremy and Reg's relationship was how ‘take charge' Reg became. Jeremy was the star but he liked Reg in control of things so he could focus on performing...Reg was the one person that seemed to care about Jeremy because he truly liked him and not because he could gain anything from knowing him. I think that was what Jeremy loved the most about Reg at first as well. That ‘like' soon started to reshape into something more. ...Since Jeremy never had a real relationship with anyone, it took him awhile to discover what he truly had with Reg. The slow burn was very sweet and romantic and so Cardeno C! Read this book for the nice permanent smile that will be on your face the whole time you read it. Also, because sometimes no angst is the very best thing in the world!!
Cardeno C is quickly becoming one of my favourite m/m romance authors, especially for a quick, sweet romance....What I loved was how Jared and Lucas circled around each other, neither knowing that they were the other ones crush. I loved that Jared would not put up with any of Lucas' spoilt antics, and tells him so right up front. Rawwwr that's hot! And you just know that when these two get their act together it is going to be hot and explosive. And boooom it sure is. ...McFarland's Farm was a great introduction to a new series of novellas, and I will definitely be checking out more as they are released!
