“Hey. You been here long?”
Shifting in the slightly off-balance chair, Kyle Potter looked up from his phone. He was in a bar, surrounded by laughing, drinking, dancing men, but all he could focus on was the too-long to-do list he had left at the office. He blinked at his friend, his brain struggling to change gears from emails to what was supposed to be a fun night out, his first in over a month.
Shaking his head, he said, “No, I just got here.”
“Cool.” Matthew sat and darted his gaze from side to side. “Is anyone using those chairs?” He pointed to another table.
“Uh. I have no idea.” Kyle had walked into the bar, found an empty spot, and started checking his messages. He hadn’t had time to get a drink let alone scope out his surroundings.
“Table looks empty. I’m grabbing them.” Matthew pushed…
I liked how these guys get together and how Kyle’s perception and treatment of Brent changes. Kyle comes across in a better light here, so by the end of the story I’d grown to like him. We are treated to a few of CC’s trademark steamy scenes.
Once bedroom action happens, he wants his man. The relationship is not one sided. And the guys seemed to be a great fit, in and out of the bedroom.
Kyle's the type of character who needs to learn as a person to grow. I think he's still a work in progress. He shares his inner demons with Brent. And Brent brings out the best in him.
I am a big fan of this author’s work. Cardeno C creates characters that stay with you and the romances are sweet and sometimes hard fought for. Rough Edges is a perfect example of the fight for the happy ever after. This romance is a story of real perseverance, especially on Brent’s part.
Seet with a lovely ending and if you need a smile to brighten your day, this story will definitely do it.
