An Omega who must learn to trust. An Alpha who must learn patience. Fate unites them. Love keeps them together.
Exiled by his pack as a teen, Omega wolf Simon Moorehead learns to bury his gentle nature in the interest of survival. When a hulking, rough-faced Alpha catches Simon on pack territory, he tries to escape what he’s sure will be imminent death. But instead of killing him, the Alpha takes Simon home.
A man of action, Mitch Grant uproots his life to support his brother in leading the Blue Mountain pack. Mitch lives on the periphery, quietly protecting everyone, but always alone. A mate is a dream come true for Mitch, and he won’t let little things like Simon’s rejections, attacks, and insults get in their way. With patience, seduction, and genuine care, Mitch will ride out the storm while Simon slays his own ghosts and Mitch’s loneliness.
“Trick or treat!”
“We’re coming!” Frederick hustled to the front door of the Alpha house, his white lab coat billowing behind him. “Happy Halloween.” He opened the door and smiled down at the young ones crowded on the mat.
“Who’re you dressed as, Alpha?” asked the latest princess to grace Frederick’s doorstep. This one wore a green dress.
“He’s a doctor!” said a tiny zombie. “See, he has a doctor uniform.” He tugged on Frederick’s white lab coat as he spoke.
“Billy!” The cub’s mother rushed forward and dragged him aside. “We don’t touch people.” She looked up at Frederick from underneath her lashes, keeping her head respectfully lowered. “My apologies, Alpha.”
“Nothing to be sorry for.” Frederick waved her off casually. “I am a doctor,” he said to the children as he crouched down to their eye level. “But not just any doctor.”

I highly recommend this story and the audio book for any reader of the m/m genre, even those new to the shapeshifter genre.
I enjoyed this one a lot. ... I adored the characters and can't wait to see where Cardeno takes the series next.
If you're already a fan, it's a must read/listen. If you've never read this author's work before... well, what better way to start than with a brand new series with sexy, growly shifters.
It had a real nice pace to it, and I had a hard time stopping myself from listening to it all in one go, despite the fact that I had Things That Must Be Done.
